The High-definition: new pleasure in DVD!

The high-definition arrives finally in our homes. Of quality higher to the DVD than we know all now, it exists however in two formats: the HD DVD and Blu-ray. Future substitutes of the DVD, these formats have the same diode with blue laser (the diode of the current DVD being red), and use the same algorithms of compression.

HD DVD: enough near technically to the current DVD, it is easier to manufacture and thus less expensive. Its storage capacity is from approximately 30 Go and the readers should be less expensive than its competitor.

Blu-ray: of higher capacity (one announces 200 Go! ), actually 25 Go at its exit, this format has a layer of protection much finer. The maximum flow makes it possible to have less compression and thus an image of higher quality.

For the level of the film editors, it should be known that Blu-ray has more support than HD DVD. But extremely fortunately, the manufacturers of the new readers of DVD will allow the users to look at the old DVD. During one transitional period, it is completely normal to avoid with all the platinum owners systematically changing material. On the other hand it will not be possible to read the future DVD with our current readers.

The diffusers, TV, Plasma, screen LCD, or video projector must comprise the ad hoc connector industry to profit from High-definition quality. A catch DVI or HDMI is essential. Side television set, the initials “HD-Ready” will be the paramount purchase to supplement the chain of the High-definition. And as soon as the prices drop, you will be able to direct yourselves towards the diffusers posting “Full HD”

Even if the recorders of DVD do not ensure for the moment any compatibility with the High-definition, the new DVD, HD DVD or Blu-ray promise beautiful hours of visionnage to us. Then all with your living rooms and your rooms of home cinema!
